Carin and I went to Galaxy Toys Friday night at midnight. The event was Worldwake draft. I had never been to a DCI event before. It was good getting some experience playing in that format. I’ve never done anything but casual. Even at the local store.

We played three packs – one Zendikar, two Worldwake. I played alright for my first event. I went 4-4 for the night. Almost finished 5-2, but lost the last two games. Two losses were from simple mistakes. Held myself to them and learned.

Woldwake is a fun addition to what Zendikar started. For starters, I love the new allies. Carin got Jwari Shapeshifter, ally clone. Each color has better or more options for 2cc allies.

Plenty of new land triggers and drop manipulation. Carin’s using a Walking Atlas to good effect. Each color has a rare man-land. I ended up with three of the red one, Raging Ravine

I was wrong about many of my common predictions. I’ll be editing that post with my thoughts after playing with the set. I’m looking forward to those boosters on the 5th.
